OOTD 9/6/2011 :: Playing Games with Madewell
Let’s pretend like it’s sunny today and this is the outfit I’m wearing at IFB Con. The sad reality is it’s raining and you’ll see the outfit I actually wore later on. Ah well.
I have a love of vaguely nautical prints, especially when navy was involved. I couldn’t help myself from helping myself to this pretty Madewell frock. Problem is Madewell dresses tend to be short. This wouldn’t be an issue if I was tall with awesome legs. But I’ve only got one half of that equation covered. So my secret is to order a size up and up (aka a 10 instead of my usual 6). It leaves the top half very loose but gains me the inch or two I need to move the hemline closer to my knees. I see the newest dresses are longer. Maybe this means I can order my regular size…ah, Madewell, the games we play.
In other news some lady tried to steal my mini crossbody from me on the subway. What is with people?!? The train was stopped, the doors opened and as she got up from next to me she tried to swipe it. Little does she know that I’m an Anthropologie magnet. All things designed by or made for the store of flowy are attracted to me like a bee to honey. So when she tried to grab it invisible kinetic forces pulled my hands to the bag so it couldn’t escape me. Then I shot her a look of death. The event left me feeling empowered. Fighting the forces of evil on the 2 train — that is me.
