Another day, a rare day off. What’s better than a 3-day weekend? A 5-day weekend. I’m stretching Labor Day a few extra days to recharge my nearly-empty batteries and prep for the sure-to-be-awesome Independent Fashion Bloggers (IFB) Conference tomorrow here in NYC. I missed the conference last year so I’m stoked to be attending this year. It also means my days off aren’t truly days off. It’s totally worth the sacrifice. Today’s look is all about running around town. I’ll be doing some errands and a bit of clothing shopping for a couple of my personal shopping clients. (I live the glamorous life, I know.) It’s the debut of the super-cute Steam-Powered Satchel from Anthropologie, which I’ll give the full review treatment over on Effortless Anthropologie later this week. I love how the bag has accordion pleats along the bottom, meaning it expands easily from a condensed rectangle to something more 3-dimensional when needed. The leather shoulder pad also means the chain doesn’t cut into my shoulder. And who can miss the heels? Though they’re undeniably trendy, when the Wyatt Buckle High Heel Sandals from J.Crew hit mega sale I couldn’t resist pulling the trigger. I sized up a 1/2 size to a 9.5 in these because J.Crew’s shoes have been running small lately. The 9.5’s are a little too big (should have stuck with my usual size 9) but since they were final sale a heel insert fixes that. Despite the 4” heels they’re very comfortable to walk in. When J.Crew does shoes right they are impossible to beat. Anyone else out there in tumblr-land attending IFB con tomorrow? I’d love to meet you! Until then, enjoy some more outfit photos below.
