Corey Lynn Calter Fall 2012 NYFW presentation :: 2.8.2012 :: Pier 59 Studios

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending Corey Lynn Calter’s New York Fashion Week presentation at Pier 59. I was already in the building, having snuck into the end of Steven Alan’s show. (You can check out that collection via The Cut.) Ms. Calter has earned a spot in my heart ever since her amazing Monochromatic Corset Dress found its way to Anthropologie in 2009.

I was very pleased with what I saw! The pieces were flirty and fun, with a nice mix of trendy work-appropriate looks and some that were strictly for going out. Among my favorites were a short sequin striped shift and a pleated skirt, Peter Pan-collared shirt and cape combination. You can see my full slide show here.

From the collection I saw some pieces I can see Anthropologie carrying, particularly a gorgeous mainly yellow print-mixed dress and a pretty black floral dress with sheer winged sleeves. I was also swooning over many of the shoes, which were provided by Seychelles. (A favorite brand of mine and many an Anthro lover!) Among the shoes I recognized were their Ampersand, Apostrophe and the Quotation Mark. All now wishlisted!

I’m excited to see which pieces from the Corey Lynn Calter Fall 2012 collection end up in production. Until then, here are a couple more photos to tide us over, including a mad look at the clutch of photographers rushing to take pictures. More to come from Fashion Week! What shows are you looking forward to?
