OOTD 2.7.2012: IFBCon Dry Run

Tomorrow is one of my favorite days of the year — IFBCon! Each year the Independent Fashion Bloggers coalition gathers some of the coolest thought leaders to speak on panels to the blogging masses. For the past few years the conference has been at Milk Studios in NYC, one of my favorite fashion destinations and a spot I’ll be hitting a few times next week during NY Fashion Week.

Of course, being surrounded by fashionistas means I’ve got to step up my game appropriately. Last year I went for the fashion-professional mix and it served me pretty well. There was a great mix of looks: bloggers dressed to the 9s, some going for a more trendy angle while some wore work-appropriate gear. I learned that the conference is all about coming as you are. So if you wear a satin prom dress every day on your blog as your OOTD best to do the same with your IFBCon look.

For me, I’m a prepster at heart with a little twist and so it’s prep I’ll be tomorrow. Today is my dry run of that style. How’d I do? Are you attending IFBCon tomorrow? (If you are, please come say hello! I’ll be a little late — attending a pre-NYFW presentation tomorrow morning — but I’d love to meet you.) And if you’re not a member of IFB I highly recommend it! The articles are invaluable and the community is pretty great!

In another post I’ll have to explain my face in the top photo, inspired by the following thought: Monsieur Drexler, how is it possible that the quality of Madewell keeps getting better whilst J.Crew continues its rapid decline into crappy material hell?
