OOTD 2.1.2012: Toughing it Out
Many designers seem eager to relive the 1990s in their clothing. Me not so much. One of the few things I can get on board with is a nice plaid. Rag and Bone’s Saami dress reeled me in with its sharp mix of plaids in a modern shape. (The warmth factor doesn’t hurt either.) Much as I’m tempted to throw on a pair of Doc Martens with these I went for aslightymore work-friendly option: chunky heels. I think the former would have won me more cred with the engineering team at work though.
The jacket in this look is a rare Urban Outfitters find. I was hoping to find a Chanel tweed-alike when this open option appeared. It’s not what I was originally hunting but I’m really happy with the jacket 3 years later. Is anyone else wandering through stores confused right now? I feel like none of the trends of Spring 2012 are really speaking to me. I’m content for now to wear some underloved items that I already own.
