OOTD 11/9/2011.
It’s an OOTD I’m actually wearing today! (Well almost. It’s warm in NYC today so I swapped the peacoat for something lighter.) Will wonders never cease? Today we seek to answer the question “What happens when you buy a top that’s too short for you?” The answer of course is in my world to pair it with high-waisted trousers. And what a wonderful effect it is to pair wide-leg trousers which even my leg line with a shorter top in a bold color that doesn’t make me look too short-torso’d. The weird thing is this is the tall version of this top! I can’t imagine what the regular length would have looked like on me.
I love the hugemongous peacoat (shots below) that I really need to swap for a size smaller. The necklace in this outfit was a gift from the lovely Laura of Anthro Closet Chaos. I am charmed that she shared this piece with me — it’s cut from a larger piece that Laura sent to several bloggers. The thoughtfulness of such a personal gift is humbling. I finished off this look with my J.Crew Edie, which I plan to use everyday until I become sick of it. I will probably never be sick of it.
In this outfit:
Anthropologie Hampden Peacoat
J.Crew Tall Silk Peplum Blouse
Anthropologie Elevenses High-Waist Trousers
Vince Camuto Vickiy Pump
Snowflake Necklace (a gift)
Kate Spade Crystal Corsage Studs
