Can pink, gold and red coexist in the same outfit? Looks like it. Here’s a color combination I’ve never tried before for this weekend shopping look. As I flip through the fashion mags with their tone on tone madness I’m trying to evolve beyond my usual combo of blue, blue and more blue. With a bit of tan on my skin (yes, this is tan for me, go ahead and laugh) I can wear a light pink without looking too washed out. What do you think of all the tone-on-tone looks that are trendy for fall? I tend to appreciate the more neutral combos like tan on brown or lime on green than the bolder choices like pink on red or lilac on purple. I’m intrigued by them all though.
I’m having some issues with these Pilcro pants from Anthropologie. They are the Stet cut (straight cut) and I like the colors they come in quite a bit. Problem is I’m between sizes it seems. I started with my usual 31 waist but over the course of the day they stretched so much that the pants were really falling down. So I went and exchanged those for a 30 which start off the day really tight as the photos unfortunately show. After a few hours they’re better in the waist but the leg continues to hug. Not sure what to do — I might sadly just have to return these and give up on them altogether. Too bad because they come in 3 really appealing colors.

In this outfit: Club Monaco Samarie Top (size M) Pilcro Stet Slims ($98) in gold (size 30) J.Crew Mona Leather Pumps ($198) in brick red (size 9) Anthropologie Fine-Ruled Satchel ($268) J.Crew Symphony Necklace in pumpkin Kate Spade Crystal Corsage Studs ($48)
