Okay, okay; I’m once again a lying liar who lies — I’m not actually wearing this today but did wear this exact outfit recently. I’m pretty good at putting together outfits for others yet I frequently struggle with how to dress my own body. It’s weird. So when a look is successful to me I can’t help but stand a little straighter and walk with a little ‘tude in my step. This outfit drew a bunch of compliments on the street which was a nice mood booster to the day. A chillier day meant I could give the Wild and Wondrous Cardigan a shot. The bold floral pattern is eye-catching and I love how it flows like a cape when in motion. A hook-and-eye closure just under the bust keeps it from flying open.
To me, this outfit looks put together without being too formal. It’s your classic day-to-night look. I wish I could buy 10 pairs of jeans like the Paiges I’m wearing here. They make me feel great! The rest of the outfit pulls from the colors of the cardi — a green Alexis Bittar necklace, a gold purse from Anthro, and black strappy sandals from J.Crew (another sale grab and man are they comfy)! I’m often tempted to go very matchy matchy, with shoes/purse matching or somesuch. This look is a triumph over that for me. This one’s a personal best.
Hope your week is going well so far. A few more detail shots below, and the full set from this outfit is in my OOTD project set on flickr. This outfit also recently appeared on Kim from Anthroholic’s Weekly Reader outfit feature.
